The central part of this brooch was found in the small old town of San Gimignano in Tuscany. It is made of porcelain and coated with a unique crystallized glaze. The uniqueness of this glaze lies in the fact that its formula is kept secret by its creators and passed on from generation to generation. The porcelain piece is made of sterling silver, textured and plated with rhodium for increased tarnish resistance. The piece is accented with a fresh water pearl to balance its dynamic composition. This brooch can also be used as a pendant. The reverse side of the brooch contains a decorative hidden secret for its owner.
